In 2004, the National Bank of Kuwait (NBK) acquired a 20% ownership stake in the International Bank of Qatar and full management control. Although new in name, IBQ is the oldest bank in Qatar, having celebrated 50 years in banking in late 2006.

IBQ customers have the opportunity to choose one of our relationship packages; immediately upon opening an account with us. "Relationship Packages" such as the I-bank, Elite and Preferred offer our customers the opportunity to choose the banking service they would like to receive free of charge at the very start of their IBQ banking relationship.

IBQ offers customers the option to open a current, time deposit and savings account. Opening an account at IBQ is the beginning of a financial service that is second to none and the start of a long-term relationship.
How do I open an account at IBQ?
To open a bank account at IBQ, all you need is;

What type of cards does IBQ have?
IBQ provides customers with debit and credit cards instantly, allowing customers to get on with their financial transactions quickly and efficiently. This is offered to customers as part of any of the Relationship Packages selected.
Our debit card, the MC2 is the Middle East and Levant region's first translucent, curved design and chip-enabled MasterCard and can be used at more than 26 million outletsaround the world. Customers can also withdraw funds by using one of our two credit cards; the Gold and the Classic MasterCard, accepted at over 22 million locations across 220 countries. Ourdebit and credit cards allow increased flexibility, faster service and security.

At IBQ we offer customers the right level of financial support, with the most competitive interest rates over a convenient period of time. IBQ offers its customers two unique types of loans; car loan and personal loans.
