In an initiative geared towards casting the limelight on Qatar's exceptional artistic talent, ibq launched its first edition of the “ibq Artist Series” in December 2010.

The ‘ibq Artist Series’ which aims to showcase, support and nurture artists working in Qatar, also hopes to promote and create interest in the arts among the local community. 

The 2 nd edition of the series for 2011, was held at The Pearl - Qatar (1 La Croisette, Porto Arabia), from 29 November to 3 December 2011.

Four outstanding Arab artists working in Qatar were chosen to exhibit their artwork during this exhibition. The exhibition included abstract photography, figurative paintings and caricatures of Wadha Al Sulaiti ( Qatar ) Moudhi Al Hajri (Qatar ), Waseem Al Marzouki (Syria ) and Ismaiil Azzam ( Iraq ).

The initiative also ties in with Qatar's national aspiration of becoming a regional hub for culture and the arts.
